Two Line Review: Ice Age (2002)

As with all long-running franchises, the first film is easily the best, with collection of great characters, awkwardly pushed together. The story is the strength where the animation is merely good.

Critic Opinion: 7.7/10

Ice Age - Chris Wedge, Carlos Saldanha

Two Line Review: Hummingbird (2013)

A good performance from Statham and some witty one liners. Knight delivers a more than standard action in his first feature. One to watch for some great sights of London.

Two Line Review: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003)

Spectacle and atmosphere are key to the epic conclusion of this trilogy. All the story strands are nicely pulled together, and maybe the ending is a little drawn out, but it is still a satisfying finale.

Thinking Film Rating: 9.5/10

Public Opinion: 8.9/10
Critic Opinion: 9.4/10

Two Line Review: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

The weakest of the trilogy but by no means a poor film. Largely occupied by the Battle of Helms Deep, the plot loses it's flow but Serkis' powerhouse performance as Gollum easily makes up for it.

Thinking Film Rating: 8.5/10

Public Opinion: 8.7/10
Critic Opinion: 9.6/10

Two Line Review: Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

An amazing start to the trilogy, the film is visually - both in design and FX - stunning. With a brilliant ensemble cast and a respect for the source work, this is a very worthy adaptation.

Two Line Review: Romeo Must Die (2000)

Clearly the uninspired story is simply an excuse for the martial art scenes, but even those don't fully deliver, particularly due to the frenetic editing.

Two Line Review: Stoker (2013)

Park Chan-wook's brilliantly dark and twisted style is still very apparent in his English language debut, albeit toned down and refined. Although this restraint may have made the film more powerful.

Two Line Review: The Room (2003)

The epitamy of the 'so-bad-it's-good' movies. So unwatchable that it's riveting, so unengaging that it's gripping, so very bad that you leave the film wondering whether Wiseau is talentless or a genius.
